The Landcare Nursery’s main purpose is to grow local native plants for landcare groups and projects to help restore natural areas in Lake Macquarie.
We also try to support residents that are interested in growing local native plants by offering a selection of plants for sale. These plants are suitable for a variety of backyard situations and include local native, trees, shrubs, groundcovers, ferns, climbers and grasses.
Plants often in stock include Sydney Golden Wattle, Coastal Banksia, Weeping Bottlebrush, Tuckeroo, Creek Lilly Pilly, Lomandra, Coastal Rosemary and Native Violet. If you have a specific species in mind it is recommended that you contact Nursery Officer Alex Wilson on 4921 0392 prior to dropping by, to see what is available.
Prices start from $4.90 including GST for forestry tubes and all Landcare volunteers and members of Lake Macquarie City Council’s ‘Backyard Habitat for Wildlife’ program receive a discount on this price (prices are subject to change). Discounts are also available for bulk orders.
Plant sales are available on Tuesdays 8am – 4pm, located at the Landcare Resource Centre on the corner of Toronto and Five Islands Roads, Booragul. Cash sales only.
For more information, please contact Lake Macquarie Landcare on 4921 0392.
